The Zambezi River

The Zambezi River is reaching its annual high levels, which means that the White Water Rafting season is at and for the next few months. The Zambezi is known to have the best 1 day White Water Rafting in the world, but the seasonal high water levels make even this River too much to handle.

Gorongosa National Park

Following the relocation of six elephants in September 2008, Gorongosa National Park in Mozambique has received five hippos from iSimangaliso Wetland Park in South Africa. The five hippos represent the first shipment of 30 hippos that iSimangaliso Wetland Park offered to Gorongosa National Park. Hippo relocation is part of the Gorongosa National Park project’s goal to restore the Gorongosa ecosystem. They keep grasses short and palatable for other herbivores that cannot feed on long grass. Additionally, introducing more hippos with different characters will improve the genetic pool of future generations.

Bristis Airways – Special Bag Charge

Effective April 1, British Airways will introduce a Special Bag Charge (SBC) for certain items of checked baggage, which, according to the carrier, will help to cover the additional cost of handling these items. In addition, BA will introduce consistent maximum dimensions for a standard checked bag of 90cm X 75cm X 43cm. Other key changes will include the introduction of a 25 handling fee for oversized bags between 90cm X 75cm X 43cm and 240cm X 65cm X 75cm and a 25 handling fee for all firearms.

Have a nice day.
